Xmas party weekend
This was the weekend of the Xmas parties. We had a kids party which we brought Nora to Saturday morning. The kids got to see Santa, get pictures, and see a choice of movies. Nora did great with Santa. No fear, no tears, and she told Santa she wanted a pig... or she called him a pig. It could have gone either way. Jaime asked Nora what she wanted, and Nora said "pig". Nora did good at the movie and actually this was Nora's first 3D movie "Arthur Christmas". Since Nora loves wearing glasses we figured this could be a slam dunk. Jaime and I kept tilting our heads to look at the screen for Nora's perspective to make sure the 3D effect worked. If anyone was watching, I'm sure they were wondering what in the world we were doing. Nora enjoyed the trailers and made it about 20 minutes into the movie before she wanted to go home. Nora, like many normal kids, loves to watch the same movie over and over again and isn't a big fan of "new" content.
That evening was the adults Christmas party. Nurse Kim happily watched Nora while we dressed up and went out. We got to see the "Who's line is it anyway" folks Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood. They made fun of a few people I work with, and overall it was a great show. Entertained, Jaime and I went home instead of hitting the bar. The life of an SMA parent doesn't mix well with alcohol.
Jaime and I are both in the Christmas mode. I don't think Nora understands truly what's going on yet with xmas. She knows who Santa is, but I doubt she's made the Santa - present connection yet. .. but she will. Nora's present count is in the high teens already.
Af far as another venting sesson goes, I'm going to resist the urge. The last time caused some unexpected fallout.

Great Christmas pictures. Nora looks so cute in her Christmas poncho. You do such a great job, Jaime. Much love to all of you.
Sending you kisses, Nora so that you don't have to eat all those! What a beautiful dress. I had a plaid taffeta dress when I was little and never forgot it. You did a good job taking that picture of Mommy and Daddy too, Nora.
