Presents, Tea Party and Face Painting
Coming come down off the high that was our fun-packed Nora Birthday weekend, we planned for a low-key weekend. Those plans were difficult to follow when your evenings are spent opening presents and getting new toys. It all started when we decided it would be better to drag out the present unwrapping. We'd rather not tire Nora out with a long Christmas type session. We only opened a few on her Birthday then opened one or two each night for the next 3 nights. I think Nora appreciated each gift a little more this way. So the pictures, below are our first round of presents. Don't be alarmed if your present wasn't included... it will be on the next round of pics.
So with Nora constantly thinking she'd get another present at any moment, we started the weekend. Jaime and Nora had a dolly tea party since "we now have dolls you can do this with" said Jaime ( I have no idea what that means). So Jaime set up Nora's little princess hut/tent and the four of them (Pottery Barn Paige and the no name American Girl doll) had afternoon tea. The funniest part of the whole event was Nora's long body. Last time we used the princess tent Nora fit comfortably inside. Now that Nora's almost 12 feet tall, her tiny feet stick out from underneath the tent. So if you catch the picture of two small feet you'll know why.
Before nap time on Sunday, Jaime came up with the idea to paint Nora's face as a butterfly. Jaime is a talented artist, and Nora, a willing and easy-to-paint participant, so together they were able to apply the template to Nora's tiny face. Yes, I said template. Jaime's good, but she's not good enough to free-hand especially on my daughter's face. Since Nora can't look in the mirror by herself, she probably wondered why we were laughing so hard. Once we had our fill, Jaime spun her around so she could see herself and her looks are priceless.

I just love the look of total amazement when Nora saw her butterfly face. And then that changed to a wonderful smile. Jaime you are so talented. The tea party looks like so much fun. You guys are great parents. Much love to all of you
The magneatos have been fun for Lucy. I hope Nora likes them. Lucy likes to use the sticks to move the balls to stick to the stick (did that make sense?) Anyway, I love the tea party scene, it's so cute.
I hope Nora loves Eric Carle as much as my girls and grandkids and I always have. Love the tea party picture especially. I didn't think they could get any cuter.
Love
Nora is an American Girl Princis, with the greatest smile!!!!
Your daughter is gorgeous.....really, simply gorgeous. She has one of the best smiles I've seen in a long time! I ran across her on YouTube by mistake the very day you posted the video of h birthday at American Girl. Needless to say I was touched. I then proceeded to watch every Nora video I could find on YouTube. There is just something special about Nora. My oldest daughter ( I have 3 girls) loves to watch Nora' s videos too. She woke up one morning last week saying she dreamed about the little girl who " Oooooed and Ahhhhed" and wanted to know more about her. It's hard explaining Nora's condition to a 5 yr old. Anyway, just wanted you to know that we are Nora fans here at the Kelly house and I pray for you and her often. You are spectacular parents and while I'm sure there are days when you'd rather stay in bed, you'd never know it based on the smile that graces sweet Nora's face. Clearly she is a well loved child. Hope you all are i enjoying your weekend! I look forward to more updates! ~ Valli
